Ethiopia is located in the North Eastern part of Africa, literally called the "Horn of Africa". It is also known as the "Roof of Africa", with the Semien Montains in the North and the extended mountain ranges and their associated plateaus in the South East. The average elevation of the plateaus is about 1680 m.a.s.l, and the highest mountain is 4620 m.a.s.l - Ras Dashen.
Ethiopia can also be figured as the water tower of East Africa - it hosts enormous water bodies: Rift Valley and highland lakes accompanied by long traveling rivers.
The most famous River Abay becomes the Blue Nile after it joins the White Nile in Sudan. The Great Rift Valley splits Ethiopia's land features into the Northeastern highlands and their associated lowlands, and the Southwestern highlands and associated lowlands. The climate of Ethiopia varies mainly according to elevation from sea level. The principal rainy season occurs between mid June and September, followed by a dry season that may be interrupted in February or March by a short rainy season.
Being most favored by 'mother nature', Ethiopia can not really be fully described in words. Simba is here to give you company as you see for yourself!
