HARAR
This is the fourth most sacred Muslim land after Mecca, founded in the 16th C. Home to the Adare, Somali, Argoba and Qotu tribes, Harar remains an exemplary town for religious harmony between Muslim and Christian Ethiopians. The great walls surrounding the old Harar town, built by the Adare tribes to protect themselves against the attack of neighboring tribes, still stand as an attraction after such a long time: a revelation of great history. Harar is thus recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO. There is also incredible hyena in this land.
